Lister
Listers Tub

An Englishman's Home is his Castle" - and very often it is the reflection of his garden, too. Flowers are found everywhere - in every room.

Flowers and foliage, attractively displayed, have always been a feature of English homes, and the demand for artistic settings in which to arrange these charming gifts of nature is growing apace. Of course, the old fashioned jardinière is still in use, but in most homes ornamental tubs and plant stands constructed to harmonise with existing furnishings, are found to lend themselves admirably to produce effective displays.

In this direction we pride ourselves that for help in brightening his home the flower-lover cannot do better than use our tubs and plant stands which belief we can state without undue boasting, is being justified day by day by the steadily increasing numbers that leave our Woodware Works.

No pains are spared in the selection of wood for 'Lister' Tubs, whether teak or oak. We purchase English, Austrian, and American oak, while the majority of the teak comes from the forests of Burmah and Rangoon; in every case the timber used being that suited to the type of Tub to be made.

Many a 'Lister' Tub, too, is made from the timber of British warships. To mention a single instance as example: That of H.M.S. Collingwood," one of the battleships engaged in the Jutland battle, and one of the 4th Battle Squadron warships from July 1916 Feb 1919.

It is pleasing to know that these stately battleships after they have seen years of service in securing the peace of our coasts, are not merely broken up and destroyed, but are transformed to go out once more to beautify the homes they have so well safe-guarded.
